Project Overview

Located in Noordhoek, this residential project explores regenerative design principles through organic forms and natural materials. The collaboration with John Barrett brought together expertise in sustainable building practices and contemporary design. No-one ever got anywhere alone—the house integrates seamlessly with its coastal environment, utilizing local materials and passive design strategies to minimize environmental impact while maximizing comfort.

Design Approach

The design process began with a comprehensive study of the coastal environment, understanding wind patterns, solar orientation, and local ecosystems. This is the organic form developed in response to these conditions while creating a home that feels both protected and open to the landscape.
